Do you know what Photomicrographs are?   Neither did I, but I sure am glad I found out!  This site is an amazing collection of photographs taken through a microscope.  I originally found the link by searching for information on various microprocessors.  You see, this site has photomicrographs of the circuits of various microprocessors found in computers today.   Of special interest to me was the "Silicon Zoo" section where you will find such creatures Dilbert, Daffy Duck and Godzilla buried within the design of the processors!  Just like Easter Eggs found in software packages, someone with a powerful enough microscope will find Easter Eggs such as these buried within the highways of the latest processors from big guys like Intel, Hewlett Packard and AMD.

I don't want you to get the impression that this site is all computer oriented, however.  There are beautiful photomicrographs of Antibiotics, Beer, Cocktails, Dinosaur Bones, Endorphins and more!  In addition to all that, you can even download a screen saver of photomicrographs for your PC (Windows based) computer.

There obviously is a lot of time spent on this site, and it's being updated all the time.  In fact, as I was verifying some of the links for this review, I noticed that there have been a few recent photos added since I last visited.  I particularly enjoy the little blurbs accompanying each photo.   Not only do they tell you a little bit about the "subject", but you'll find that they often contain a line or two about how each particular photo came to be.

Finally, when you get bored with the photos, you can read up on photography like this by clicking on the Microscopy Primer or Virtual Microscopy links.

Don't write this off before seeing the beautiful, alien landscapes produced from a leaf of Spinach.   All in all this is a very fun, beautiful and mesmerizing site which you should be sure to visit soon and often!

Looking to make a puzzle for your child, grandkids or students?  Check out this site!  Lots and lots of puzzles here for you to create, download and print out.  If you like any of the following, you know you've come to the right place:  Mazes, Word Search, Crossword Puzzles, Number Blocks, Math Squares and Cryptograms.

Simple enter the category of puzzle you are interested in, type in some information to create the puzzle and then click Create.   Couldn't be simpler.  I think many people will find this interesting, but some who will benefit the most are parents and teachers.  (Since the puzzles need to be created, the puzzles would be too easy for the one who created them)

Enjoy!
